A new form of advertising is a screen called digital signage. These flat
TV screens have a hidden camera that can estimate our age, ethnicity, and
gender of people watching the display, it then displays an ad that may interest
the individual watching it. These signs must be discontinued because they
clearly violate our privacy. Signs carrying a camera are the most common, but
signs using signals from our mobile phones and signs using radio frequency
identification are also used. Another form of privacy violation using
advertisements and commercials is embedded RFID (Radio-Frequency
Identification) chips in shopper loyalty cards are read at kiosks and an ad is
displayed or coupon is printed based on the cards history. Subliminal messaging
is the most unnerving form of advertisement. Subliminal messaging is any kind
of communication, picture or sound, which is processed straight to your
subconscious without any kind of notice from your conscious mind.
